Content Writer and Editor - Oxfordshire

What will I be doing?

Working in collaboration with the Head of Content and the wider content team, the Content Writer and Editor will be responsible for helping to deliver on the company’s content marketing strategy by acting as the primary editor and writer for the website, as well as writing and editing content to support marketing strategies for new products and services.

  • Write for a variety of formats, including articles, long-form guides/eBooks, and video scripts.
  • Keep up-to-date with the headline news in the world of online marketing (with a focus on SMEs)
  • Develop new content ideas for articles and other formats, based on research and discussion with the content team
  • Provide suggested copy for social media to support the promotion of content.
  • Help others in the marketing team to develop a high standard of written communication through training, workshops, and an up-to-date guidelines document
  • Working closely with the Content Marketing Executive, help manage and maintain the editorial calendar
  • Attend outside events, as required, to create written communications for support and promotion
  • Develop messages for other marketing activity and campaigns as required 

What skills and experience are required

  • The right person will be an intelligent team player, with bags of energy and initiative. Someone that gets their sleeves rolled up and gets stuck in.  Someone who writes persuasively, is interested in the development of the internet, and has a nose for a story.
  • Preferably, a recent graduate with a relevant degree and experience, or someone with preferably two years + experience in a related role. 
  • Gifted writer (journalism/English qualification preferred)
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and work with new technologies
  • Innovative and creative
  • Professional and credible
