Who will I be working for?

My client is seeking to recruit a full-time experienced Bid Finance Manager to join the bidding team in their Oxford office. 

What will I be doing?

Reporting to our Commercial Bid Manager, the Finance Bid Manager will be responsible for providing guidance and advice on financial elements of tender and acquisition opportunities being investigated from early forecasting / pre-positioning through to tender submission

They will also develop the budget for key proposals (over £1m) as well as those which require sensitive personal data to be submitted to the client and overall support the development of commercial strategies for all clients.

This will be achieved by, among other things:

  • Ensuring final budgets submitted to clients are consistent with approved budgets
  • Attending all meetings for allocated bids as key contributors
  • Review and advise on commercial proposals developed by Project Managers.
  • Advising and supporting on commercial / fiscal components of acquisition opportunities
  • Liaising between Project, Tender and Business Managers on how the proposed technical methodology may impact on the commercial proposal.
  • Liaising as required with the Legal and Contracts, HR and Finance teams to develop budgets where sensitive information is required
  • Developing and managing appropriate templates to be included in bids depending on the requirements from the donor

What skills and experience are required?

  •  Qualification or part qualification Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA.) or significant finance and budgeting experience
  • Ability to understand high volumes of complex financial information
  • Previous experience in bid support and project budgeting
  • Good prioritisation and time-management skills
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret international development technical approaches and processes and translate it into financial requirements
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Excellent IT skills in Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Good stakeholder management and influencing skills across and upwards
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience of the international development sector
  • Knowledge of SharpOwl , SUN and IPOS
  • Project management experience

This is a permanent, full time position in Oxford City centre £ 45,000- 48,000. With great company benefits
