What will I be doing?

The Account Director mentors and aids account management team members and acts as a team leader in building strong, trusting relationships with clients by ensuring excellence in delivery, clear communication, and sound strategic guidance. They work pro actively to maximise the potential of accounts by working closely with the Business Director on new business opportunities and facilitating the organic growth of existing accounts.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business needs of our clients and drive benefit-led partnerships with them
  • Develop the growth strategy across a portfolio of clients and manage the sales/account strategies for our clients, including identifying and winning business
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior-level clients
  • Directly line manage (senior) account managers providing team development, guidance, feedback and motivation
  • Mentor and coach junior members of the team to develop closer relationships with their clients and deep understanding of their businesses and key objectives
  • Support the strategy of running global and UK communication programmes
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships through regular close contact, including face-to-face meetings, telephone and e-mail communication
  • Work with and support the business development and client services team on generating new revenue opportunities within the suite of key clients
  • Support the Head of Operations in ensuring adequate resources and processes are in place to service and grow key accounts
  • Work closely with the Programme Management and Client Service team to ensure that the customer is receiving the highest level of service and excellent delivery of campaigns
  • Work with the Business Director to identify renewal opportunities within existing clients; supporting in the creation of proposals
  • Work with the Head of Operations and Business Director to ensure insights and robust recommendations are regularly shared with the client
  • Working with client contacts and procurement departments to put in place Master Service Agreements across all key accounts
  • Presenting at the Client Services and Communications team meetings to share best practice across the business unit
  • Work closely with the Programme Management team to support in ensuring programmes are delivered on time, on budget, and meet KPIs.

What skills and experiences are required?

  • Educated to Degree level, or equivalent
  • Proven ability of building strong client relationships and surpassing expectations
  • Experience of managing accounts and relationships for multiple customers at a European or global level
  • Experience of and passion for presenting to customers at a senior management level
  • Experience in developing strategies and formulating proposals for clients
  • Proven team management experience

What else do I need to know?

This role is based on Milton Park in modern offices with parking facilities.

The role is permanent and full-time 37.5 hours per week, regular working days Monday to Friday, flexibility in hours of duty may be required subject to operational requirements.
